ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The four persons who were arrested yesterday, October 13, 2020, in relation to the two murders in September, have since been released.

Three of the arrested were in connection with the killing of Matthew D. Daly aka ‘Shorty’, who was gunned down on a road at Spring Ghut, Tortola, on September 10, 2020.

One individual was held in relation to the shooting to death of George Burrows, 54, who was killed at his Purcell Estate, Tortola, home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) had said the cases were not connected.

The arrests were made following early morning raids on Tortola on October 13, 2020.

The RVIPF; however, said today, October 14, 2020, that all of the persons arrested in the murder investigations have been set free.

“The RVIPF can confirm that the four arrested yesterday in relation to the recent murders inquiries have been discharged pending further investigations. Both inquiries remain very active,” the RVIPF said.

It is highly disrespectful to lable the RVIP officers as "down Island pigs." They are equally human as we are. They like the rest of make mistakes. We should help to make them better by supporting their good effort, not
demonizing failures. We to pull them up, not push then. Can we do better than they are doing?
