ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- According to the Department of Disaster Management (DDM), Kyle is now a post tropical cyclone and is moving to the east and away from the United States coastline.

Weakening is expected to continue and the system may dissipate in the next 48 hours.

Tropical Storm Josephine

Tropical Storm Josephine is no longer a threat to the Territory as it passes approximately 112 miles North of Anegada. It is showing signs of disorganisation and may be downgraded to a depression today, August 16, 2020.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has discontinued issuing Tropical Cyclone Alerts for Josephine; however, they have put the Virgin Islands on a High Surf Advisory until Sunday during the passing of the system.

Disturbance 1
This disturbance is moving quite rapidly at 20 mph as it approaches the Windward Islands. Satellite imagery highlights a clusters showers and thunderstorms and the disturbance is expected to impact Windward Islands later today into Monday.

Disturbance 2

Just moving off the African Coast, this disturbance currently has a 20 percent chance of development, according to the National Hurricane Centre. It is expected to move west for a few days while crossing the Atlantic with the possibility for more development.

DDM said it will continue to monitor this system as it is about a week away from the Lesser Antilles.
