PORT PURCELL, Tortola, VI– A popular quote by BVI Belonger and Billionaire Sir Richard C.N. Branson reads: ‘I have always believed that the way you treat your employees is the way they will treat your customers and that people flourish when they are praised’.

Employees yearn for appreciation for their hard work and good leaders understand this and always strive to prioritise, support, and thank their employees for going above and beyond.

The management of BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) seems to be well aware of this, as it recently awarded its staff with special recognition certificates during the final staff meeting of 2022.

Outstanding Commitment, Dedication & Dependability

Some 32 staff members across various departments were recognised for going above and beyond their regular duties during a brief ceremony at Port Purcell on December 6, 2022.

According to a press release from BVIPA on December 8, 2022, team members were recognised for Outstanding Commitment, Dedication and Dependability as well as going Beyond the Call of Duty and Perfect Attendance.

The BVIPA is responsible for the welcoming and safe arrival of seafaring passengers, as well as the reception, handling and security of cargo and sea-based trade.
