ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Another three positive COVID-19 cases have been detected in the Virgin Islands, bringing the total active cases count to 6 since the territory reopened its borders to international visitors on December 1, 2020.

This was revealed by Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Carvin Malone (AL) during the budget debate at the Second Sitting of the Third Session of the Fourth House of Assembly today, December 14, 2020.

“We have a total of six active cases when it comes to COVID-19, another three discovered between Sunday and today, Monday. Of this six, four of them were tests done on day zero, on entry,” Hon Malone said.

‘The test works’

The Health Minister gave credit to the current protocols in place for entry to the Territory, including the mandatory tests and quarantine.

“The test on arrival works,” Hon Malone said, adding that each of the positive cases were caught in the ‘quarantine corridors’.

“It works. The other two were caught at the exit of day 4. So here you have six but each of them in the quarantine space”

The Minister also reminded the public that if they see something they have to say something, noting that there have been reports of persons breaching quarantine.

Surprisingly, first person american to receive the vaccine is a black woman, being interviewed by another black woman, and being given by a black woman? Coincidence? Yeah right. Set-up for the minority black community. They’re definitely testing it on minority groups first.

What about in Britain? Not the same situation. So you wake up and stop playing the race card about a country that has nothing to do with vaccine distribution. You live in the BVI. If you don't want it... don't fking take it! I am sure no one will lose any sleep over it.

If it was a white person getting it first it would be a conspiracy against black people. Please.

Hon. Carvin Malone, It is my personal opinion that you are forth coming, meaning, that you are not hiding from us the info. that we need, in reference to Covid-10 updates. Thank yiu Minister. Keep up the giod work. God is taking note, so to speak, and so are some of us.
Is us not unusual to hear the rise in Covid-19 cases. this is a part of the risk we must take. If we all follow protocal, and support each others, we will survive Covid-19 reasonable well, but not without God's protection. The choice is ours.

Those arriving come in contact with other passengers on the plane, the pilots, others upon arrival.

Are their masks kept on the entire time during flight?

    Be realistic.

      Yes!
      Flew in yesterday
Masks were worn and social distancing respected.
Staff at the airport testing center were very helpful and informative.
Customs and immigration were fast and friendly.
Tracking bracelet applied and then taxi to accommodation.
People have to adhere to quarantine guidelines.
      Respect the rules!
I hope they do - it is working !

Could you see in every passenger on the plane during flight?

Could you see every passenger that did not come in on your flight to Beef Island on their previous flights before connecting to Beef Island?

        Be realistic.

Get the companies to equaize the work whether its in your job description or not. Its not fair that some persons from the same company are working whilst some are not. Its victimisation. The work should be shared out equally. Laid off workers does not mind doing the work of another department. As long as it tge same company. We need to work. Company only calling in who they want.

I thought visitors couldn't travel unless they had proof of testing negative for covid. How come they are coming in testing positive? Who paying for their test and quarantine here? How many more covid-infected persons can wd expect to.land here before the year ends?

How many of these people testing positive have symptoms? It’s common knowledge that a certain percentage of testing results are false positives. What if they already had Corona and the day 0 test is picking up residual particles? How are these people being treated? Are they being locked in a room after being invited here to spend their money? What about the rest of their group? Are they all being quarantined for their entire stay? Can we test for antibodies of the person says they had Corona and recovered? These pcr tests aren’t 100%. Remember how Elon Musk took tests at different places on the same day and got both negative and positive results. I feel bad for the people who get false positive results and vacation ruined for the entire group.

It is not surprising that we are experiencing an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. What is the BVIHCA saying about it. Where is the president and the political associate who want to crucify the Premier and the government. Where is Jule and Car.....l. Things to talk this Wednesday evening.

When we hear of Community Spread you all will realize four day quarantine is not long enough. Persons on day 5 mixing with the residents Christmas parties, Tree Lightings, and other functions and minimal social distancing. The end result will not be good as it may take at least 2 to 3 weeks for you all to realize this has occurred unless community members start getting symptoms and reporting to the hospital.
