3-lane highway? Accident stalls traffic on James Walter Francis Drive

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Traffic along the James Walter Francis Drive was stalled for some time yesterday, November 7, 2024, due to an accident.

The mishap occurred on the westbound lane of the dual carriageway in the vicinity of the BVI Red Cross just after 5:00 PM.

The accident involved 3 vehicles, which ended up side by side on the road, completely blocking traffic.

No one was seriously injured.

        It's not nice to body shame others but I find it appalling how overweight and short these cops are. Don't understand how they can effectively do their jobs. No wonder most of the times the perps get away. At some point, one has to get some pride in themselves and hold themselves accountable to be the best version of themselves. Imagine, there's an emergency and the Cop has to enter through a door sideways. Well he/she will either obstruct the others or find themselves wedge between the door with half their backside shot off whilst the others identify decide to burst away from all the fray. Think about it. Why are more than half of RVIPF officers BMI so high whilst most of the Emergency personnel such as Customs, Immigration, Fire and Prison in good or great shape? Come on guys, start a health program for RVIPF officers so our men and women in Grey can look better, feel better, protect us more efficiently and live longer lives. They need to move out of their vehicles and walk more. At least it will help them know the community they serve much better, thereby being able to respond sooner. All in agreement, hit Like!

    is the speed limit for all vehicles on the dual carriage way in Road Town. Apparently overloaded trucks can only manage that speed while all the other vehicles zoom around at more than 40mph.

    There was yet another crash today at the Commercial Court turning just after the ferry office. So many accidents there or near accidents. They just pull out without looking. That road needs to be closed off so they come out further up the road.
