LONG LOOK, Tortola, VI - One of the two men who were murdered in the East End community on the night of October 21, 2022, will be remembered at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the Long Look Community on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Returning for the second year, the Long Look Action Committee will be bringing their community alive with festive activities including the lighting of their Christmas Tree, festive cultural performances and presentations including gifts for children along with food and much more.

However, the preparations are being done this year without the input of Mr Kadeem E. Frett who is now deceased and according to Mr Kevon S. Lettsome, the late Frett was the “action man” in the setting up the events last year, 2021.

Late Frett was instrumental to first event

“The reason why the committee decided to do that was because last year he was very instrumental with the birth of the event, whether it was for setting up of the tents, making sure that the sand is right [and] ensuring that things are in the right places.”

Lettsome added that his friend Kadeem E. Frett will be missed during Christmas 2022 for the celebrations in East End.

“He will be truly missed because last year we had to indeed go and look for him because everything was at a standstill because we couldn’t get the tents configured he was the tent man, he was the guy who put his hand in everything and always offered a helping hand."

"So he will be truly missed and that is why we decided to name it all for him this year,” he said.

According to Lettsome, the festive celebration is open to everyone in the territory starting from 5:00 pm and a new addition this year he said, is the many gifts that will be distributed to children and the presence of Santa Claus.

Idol worship is hated by God. BVI bowed to Moloch at the Commonwealth Games. Satan worshippers. shame on the BVI.

In my opinion when we think of honoring persons they need to be upstanding persons with integrity and good morals. None of these adjectives I would attribute to that young man. He was friendly and courteous but had a shady past. Mention could have been made of him at the event even a minute of silence but to honor him with that event No!
There are other persons who are more worthy - Bertrand Lettsome, Funny Thomas, among others. Hope the committee reconsider their picks for next year.

This isnt about high position. This young man kept that park up.. while high heads never did.. dont be foolish and miss the point of him being commemorated!. Many big named people that passed away had a bad past too but it hush hush! aint noone perfect. But from what i use to observe this young man wasnt into what many of you fail to see in your own homes! we as a people will never get better by always picking out people because they was not deemed worthy for something to you. This isnt about you its about his history with keeping that park in tack! so the young children could play freely in wich he did willingly from his heart and pocket, and as you read in the news article in the first one that was held he helped make it a succsess ! stop doing the who was more fit for talk it he was fit for it! and because of him next year they may continue with naming it after someone.. so give him that because of that young man the east end park christmas event may or will continue to have a name.. stop talk n think because you aint always know !

And that’s why crime will never stop in the BVI. And that’s why we shouldn’t pretend we are sad when someone gets show.

We keep glorifying criminals so this is what we deserve as a society.

that is why those ah them say legalisize the weed and free up the coke and tun -loose the gunz on the streets so that the youths can flex off themselves on each other , for bragging rights on the streets , just make sure you ain't in the wrong place at the wrong time , when they choose to express themselves . perhaps we will have to get accustomed to this new trend sooner or later ????
