In a release posted to its social media page, 284 media said, “284 News has had the privilege of keeping the Virgin Islands informed, sharing our community’s stories and contributing to the national conversation…284 Media is pausing its news service, 284 News, including our weekly news roundup, daily news posts and news packages.”

Pausing to reflect, renew & reimagine

The media house said this pause is necessary for reflection, renewal and for  reimagining as they “develop new ways to report the news, tell your stories and facilitate national conversations that move our territory forward”.

284 Media expressed pride in the role 284 News played in public discourse across the Virgin Islands and said it looks forward to building on that legacy through new ways of engaging with the community and creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue.

“To our viewers and followers, thank you for your loyalty and trust. To the dedicated journalists and crew who brought you every story, thank you for your talent, care and commitment. Your contributions have made this journey possible.”

This is not goodbye

284 Media said this is not goodbye. 

“We look ahead with optimism and look forward to sharing our next chapter with you when the time is right. In the meantime, 284 Media will continue to bring you the sports, entertainment and live coverage you enjoy. Thank you for being part of our story and for giving us the privilege of telling yours.”
