$280K contract approved for New Horizon Ferry to barge waste from JvD to Tortola

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- With the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government moving ahead with its mandate to tackle solid waste buildup across the territory, the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has approved recommendations from the Central Tenders Board (CTB) for New Horizon Ferry Service to barge waste from Jost van Dyke to Tortola for the next 3 years.

According to the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands - Post Meeting Statement of August 11, 2021, Cabinet “Reviewed and accepted the Evaluation Report submitted by the Central Tenders Board (CTB) technical evaluation sub-committee, which was approved by the CTB on 19th May, 2021; and accepted the recommendation of the CTB to award New Horizon Ferry Services Ltd the contract for Barging of waste from Jost van Dyke to Tortola, in the amount of two hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($280,000.00) for three (3) years."

$292,500 contract for Every Ready Trucking

It said Cabinet also reviewed and accepted the Evaluation Report submitted by the Central Tenders Board technical evaluation sub-committee, which was approved by the CTB on May 19, 2021.

According to the Post Meeting Statement, Cabinet “accepted the recommendation of the CTB to award Ever Ready Trucking the contract for Managing of the Jost van Dyke Transfer Station and Providing Hauling Services for waste from Jost van Dyke to the Incinerator on Tortola in the amount of two hundred and ninety-two thousand, five hundred dollars ($292,500.00).”

      @oh lord, waste from JVD has been coming to Tortola since the dump was closed over there about 8-10 years ago. Only thing new here is the people who got the contracts.....
