23 active COVID-19 cases in VI; 1 hospitalised

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands (VI) currently has 23 active COVID-19 cases and one person is hospitalised due to the virus, according to the latest data released on March 2, 2022.

As such, Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) has detailed that Cabinet has eased restrictions on gatherings for events in the territory as well as quarantine restrictions.

Meanwhile, according to the latest COVID-19 case stats from the Territory's Epidemiological Summary, 13 of the current cases are on Tortola, 8 on Anegada and 2 on Jost van Dyke.

This is based on testing done on February 28, 2022, and reported on March 2, 2022.

The Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital has tested 100,749 samples from 92,987 persons at its laboratory.

    Where all these people come from ? and we only got 32,000 people here !
    This is not adding up.

      Some of these people are being tested multiple times and it is just adding to the count.
