HANNA ESTATE, Tortola, VI – Police at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) have announced the discovery of a firearm and ammunition following the execution of a search warrant.

Officers of the Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Hannah’s Estate on Thursday, February 15, 2024, and during the search operation, discovered one prohibited firearm and several rounds of ammunition were found.

Shawn Morris Jr., 21, of Hannah’s Estate has been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Explosives and will appear before the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

Police added that the search was carried out as a result of ongoing investigations into several serious crimes in the Territory.

“Persons who can assist the police with information regarding persons in possession of illegal firearms can confidentially call the Crime Stoppers line 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas call 1-284- 800-8477 with the relevant information, or contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339,” the RVIPF said in a release.
