BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Pastor and radio talk show host Claude O. Skelton-Cline has warned that 2026 will be a difficult year in the Virgin Islands (VI).

Skelton-Cline had his first show of the year on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, on ZBVI 780 AM titled, ‘Sometimes truth must wound in order to awaken’.

“These are not easy times, these are not simple times. 2026 is going to be a difficult year on multiple fronts.”

He said that he is concerned that, as a country, there is no plan. This is a statement that he has repeated many times during his shows in 2025.

“I am concerned that as a country, we don’t have a plan, at least not one that I’ve heard articulated clearly, concretely and concisely…I am concerned that our families, our communities, are exposed, not only to external elements, some of which is beyond our control.”

Skelton-Cline also voiced his concern that, as Virgin Islanders, among each other, selfishness, egos and pursuit for power are not laid down in the “interest of the preservation, perpetuation and progress of this country”.

I will continue to speak on these things

“My heart weeps that we to date have been unable and or unwilling, and or incapable of pulling ourselves together and seeing ourselves as one.”

Skelton-Cline said he will continue to pray and work despite the challenges.

“I’m going to come here every week as the Lord allows, and speak with you on these subjects. It will not be easy, but I do believe and remain hopeful that we will get through what we are going through.”
