SETTING POINT, Anegada, VI- The winner of the 19th Annual Leverick Bay Poker Run, Peter Penman, while thrilled to have won the event, has decided to donate a portion of his prize monies to charity.

The Anegada resident pocketed $8,000.00 for his winning hand when the 2023 Leverick Bay Poker Run was held on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

$2K for FSN

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, Mr Penman directed 25% ($2000.00) of his winnings to Family Support Network (FSN), which he seems to have a “soft spot” for.

“I have given prizes of dinners for 4 before for their raffles from The Wonky Dog where I work but the [Poker Run] win gave me the opportunity to step up and give something that I hope makes a couple of families life a little better,” Mr Penman told Virgin Islands News Online.

Second place in the 19th Leverick Bay Poker Run was taken by businessman Enos Z. Aaron, who received $5,000.

Third Place went to Tiger Nickie, who won $2000.

“I gave because giving makes me feel good, everyone should try it, it lifts you as well as others,” Mr Penman said.

Three is a charm!

This year was the 3rd time Mr Penman competed in the Leverick Bay Poker Run; however, he said he was shocked to win and “didn't find out till I was back on Anegada.”

The Poker Run champ also said the stops this year were very well set out and the party mid-day at Pirates Bight was the best time of the day.
