2023 Governor’s Cup going down Sunday April, 30, 2023

NANNY CAY, Tortola, VI – Sailing action in the 2023 Governor’s Cup under the Royal BVI Yacht Club is set for tomorrow, Sunday, April 30, 2023, with registrations already completed.

Competitors will take to the ocean for three classes including Trimaran, Racing, and Cruising with the first event scheduled to start after 10:00 am tomorrow.

Boats usually sail a 17-mile course starting at Nanny Cay, rounding Little Thatch to port, rounding the easternmost Rhone anchor dive buoy in Peter Islands' Great Harbour to port, and returning to the finish off Nanny Cay.

Back in 2021, Chris Haycraft's Ting a Ling and Pat Nolan's Moxie were the winners at the 2021 Governor's Cup held on Saturday, April 24. 

Meanwhile, other Royal BVI Yacht Club events to come include the Coronation Lunch on May 7, 2023, Coronation Cub on Monday, May 8, 2023, and the 2023 BVI Dinghy Championships will take place on Saturday 13 May, 2023. 

The BVIYC is also currently celebrating its 50th anniversary having been established in 1973.
