Always walk and ride a bicycle facing oncoming traffic.

May those that got injured experience a quick, and full recovery from their injuries.

This comment to many may seems foolish to some persons, but with so many neglect by, especially, our current political leaders to control motorcyclist, and bycyclist ignorance, and arrogance, and stupidity behaviors happening in the B.V.I., more so, especially, over the past 5 years or so, in my opinion, I don't think it is no longer safe for especially bicycle rides to travel as usual in certain ares of our daily used congested traffic roads.

Sadly, true, but true, yes, because of fear to lose votes on general elections day, our leaders have talked, yes, but talking alone have become, and ongoing their action, and necessary needed have been neglected.
Over the pass three (3) decades there have been a large increase of transport vehicles of many types, and both motorcycles, and peddle bikes vying for space on our not-yet-up-to-modern-standard traffic roads.

Back To Political leaders Neglected ignorance

Over the 3 decades mentioned neither motor cycles, and bycles laws were enforced, as was typed, because of fear.

Why is approximately 99% of motor cyclists don't wear helmets when riding? Why is approximately 95% of bicycles don't wear life, and injuries protection gears?
The answer is because of our political leaders feeble leadership, both government, and opposition at this time, hopefully no more further continuing to be as usual.

BVI is still a developing country, we are well far from becoming third world. You must remember to be aware of your surroundings at all times! The enforcing agency is either afraid of or family to most offenders so remember If you are not from here and you get caught up in a situation you will be the guilty party regardless of the circumstances. Pay attention or pay the price!

There are waaay too many female drivers on thr road period!! Secondly many persons are buying their driver's license instead of going through the proper channels. 3. The roads are narrow and full of pot holes caused mainly by the water and sewerage dept. 4. Parents and police are afraid of the youths so they can do as they please!!!! I won't lament on the politicians because to me all of them are a waste of frigging time!!!!

There is urgent need for Road Safety education in the Virgin Islands. To be frank, a bicycle is a vehicle as well as a motor scooter. They all are required to observe the rules of the road. Contrary to some people, a BICLCLE should use the same side of the road as any other vehicle. Failing to do so will result in cyclist being in the wrong should there be an accident. All pedestrians should walk on the roads and face the approaching vehicles. I am appealing to the Department of Motor Vehicle to conduct traffic education Districts and enforce the traffic laws to reduce the level of lawlessness on the roads.
