NORTH SOUND, Virgin Gorda, VI - ‘Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Hang stockings on the cabin-top with care, Run lights up the rigging & dress in your holiday best’ this is the call bellowing throughout the territory from the management of Bitter End Yacht Club as they usher in Christmas Day, December 25, 2013.

It is the occasion of the 13th Annual holiday lighted boat parade scheduled for North Sound Virgin Gorda. Bitter End Yacht Club’s General Manager Mr Mo Sallah said that the activity is definitely on and is one that all should look forward to more than ever.

In an exclusive interview with Virgin Islands News Online Mr Sallah said that the festivities get underway from 5:45 pm at the head of the Bitter End channel.

He said that Santa and his merry elves will be aboard the Ponce de Leon leading the parade.

“Fabulous prizes will be awarded ashore for well-lit and creatively-decorated boats. There’s an anchored yacht category for large yachts. Sail, Power, and Crewed Charter boats, plus private boats all welcome. Join us ashore afterwards for a Christmas Eve Celebration.” Mr Sallah noted.

He further explained that each year, North Sound lights up and comes to life for Christmas, and Bitter End’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade is the highlight.

“Charter boats, world cruisers, local boats, and super yacht tenders all join in the fun,” he continued. “Weather can play a major role, as the Christmas Winds can keep boats on the docks & moorings” he added. “When that happens, we award prizes to best dressed boats on the docks & moorings,” said Mr Sallah.

The story of the two Virgin Islands. One, land of the rich and famous, North Sound Virgin Gorda and Tortola, land of poverty, greed and corruption, drugs and guns. Happy christmas,
