$1.2M contract approved for exterior works to RT O’Neal Admin Complex

WICKHAM’S CAY II, Tortola, VI- The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands met virtually on December 22, 2021, when, among other things, it accepted a recommendation for a $1.2M contract to be awarded for “Exterior Building Envelope Repair” to Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex.

According to the Cabinet Post Meeting Statement published January 10, 2022, His Excellency, the Governor John J. Rankin, CMG, chaired the meeting, which was attended by all Members.

It said Cabinet “Reviewed and accepted the Evaluation Report submitted by the Central Tenders Board (CTB) Technical Committee, which was approved by the CTB on November 30, 2021; accepted the CTB’s recommendation to award Coverings Home Center the contract for the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex Exterior Building Envelope Repair in the amount of one million, two hundred thirty-four thousand, seven hundred seventy-seven dollars and eighty-five cents ($1,234,777.85).”

A building envelope is what protects the interior space from the elements and includes the building's roof, walls, windows, doors, and foundation.

According to research, Coverings Home Center is based in the Virgin Islands.

The Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex, the hub of Government business in the Virgin Islands, was devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.
