According to a recent Facebook post, the MSME Capacity Building Programme will deliver structured sessions across three high-demand areas: Business Continuity, focusing on planning for disruptions, risk management and resilience strategies; Digital Marketing, covering practical tools for online presence, social media, and customer engagement; and Financial Management, teaching fundamentals of costing, pricing, recordkeeping, budgeting and financial statement analysis. Programme focus & modules

According to a recent social media post by the Government of the Virgin Islands, the MSME Capacity Building Programme will deliver structured sessions across three high-demand areas: Business Continuity, focusing on planning for disruptions, risk management, and resilience strategies; Digital Marketing, covering practical tools for online presence, social media, and customer engagement; and Financial Management, teaching fundamentals of costing, pricing, recordkeeping, budgeting, and financial statement analysis. 

The series builds on similar CDB-backed initiatives that have trained hundreds of MSMEs across the Caribbean in business continuity, digital and social media marketing, and financial literacy and management.

Format & access

Organisers say the programme will run as bi-weekly sessions with virtual and hybrid options, making it easier for entrepreneurs across Tortola, Virgin Gorda, and other islands to participate without heavy travel or time away from operations.

Past CDB and government-supported training in the region has used a mix of physical and virtual classroom sessions, business clinics, and e-learning portals to improve accessibility for MSMEs.

In recent times, Local officials have emphasised ongoing support for entrepreneurs through mentorship, business development services, and targeted training delivered with international partners. The new series aligns with wider efforts to strengthen the Territory’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, including recent entrepreneur training programmes completed with the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and grant opportunities for MSMEs.

For small business owners, the modules address common pain points: maintaining operations during shocks, reaching customers digitally, and managing cash flow and finances more professionally—skills linked to better access to finance and export readiness in regional MSME programmes.

The sessions are expected to begin on August 25, 2026, and will run until October 29, 2026.
