The woman who was listed as critical after she was shot during a robbery at a residence in Paraquita Bay, Tortola, last night, April 18, 2021, has died.

The woman was reportedly shot in the head.

“Officers of Major Crime Team can confirm that the female victim injured in last night’s robbery died late this afternoon,” the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated in a press release late this afternoon, April 19, 2021.

Wow rip to her family these men involved, whoever must get caught. People work so hard for them things for someone to go and take it from them and still to turn around and kill them.. As one Virgin Islands we need to pray that this killer and all who was involved are caught. It could be one of our friends or family next.

Wtf is there not to like about what this blogger wrote? To those 2 dislikes you are probably robbers and murderers. God does not sleep nor slumber. What's ahead for people who commit these heinous crimes is not going to be good. I am in my 6o's and people didn't behave like this. What kind of people are living amongst us today? My God, they have no love for self or others. Where is their heart? I wonder how the perpetrators feel this morning sharing the proceeds from their crime? Did they see Ms. Pickering photo? What did she do them that they had to kill her? To the 2 dislikes I will like your response to this.

Justice requires that information is provided to the RVIPF which allows them to charge the perpetrators and bring them to trial and for a jury to convict. Taking matters into your own hands, as with the gunning down by International Motors, is not justice. If you know something, say something and have the courage it takes to stand up and tell what you know.

If you know something you must please speak up for the integrity of our BVI community and the safety of our families.

The UK has a population of 2000 for every 1 BVI inhabitant. If gun crime was as bad as BVI they would have 10,000 gun murders per year.

In 2019 they had 33 gun murders.

They seem to know how to fix the problem.

If you don’t have a job, Belongers or bvislander, it’s time you get one. It’s time the government demand that these young unemployed boys get a job and stop selling drugs on the streets. Their drug businesses are falling apart and now they are going after the citizens, their businesses, and their lives. Round them up! Get them off the streets, do what needs to be done. This is a small community, we have never lived with such evil, sick minds in this society before. Search each of their homes, they have no more rights in this land! Enough is Enough!

just for the record; under the last commissioner of police serious crime rose in this u.k. territory what are your plans mr new commissioner of police some have the feeling because the population is predominantly black the serious rise in crime must take a back seat to the current commission of inquiry. it is unbelievable how in a small country like tortola can have so many unsolved crimes totally unacceptable all manner of imported police officers collecting monthly wages what are they being paid to do; just to forward money to family members outside of the territory. the past commissioner hid behind the fact the public not sharing information with police is this doing to be the ploy of the new commissioner or will he ensure the police be more visible throughout the country. the police have to send a message to the criminals so resume stop and search operations and be sure to stop all users of the streets. recall mr morris disband stop & search because white folks were stoped in these operations and that was that

It is going to take decent cooperative citizens, the police and the government to solve these issues. Lets get together.

TO THE PARENT OF THE GUNMAN, YOU GOT TO KNOW YOUR SON WAS INVOLVED BECAUSE HE IS UP IN YOUR HOUSE SCARED. DO THE RIGHT THING AND ESCORT YOUR SON TO THE POLICE STATION BECAUSE THE STREETS IS LOOKING FOR HIM AND IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE HE IS FOUND. THE GREEN LIGHT IS POINTED TOWARDS YOUR SON AND THE REST OF HIS ROBBERY CREW.

Way way harder to commit crimes when the color & make of your vehicle is known unlike a 2 wheeler. Tragic. For us that can save future lives and return us to a place where committing crime will get you caught.

Corporal punishment add on to any gun crime atleast and uphold the 5 year minimum. For murder? corporal punishment and execution. Supervised private whipping with community volunteers.

Let the people vent and have them locked away knowing the system said their time is up. Reduce revenge killings on the street.

It is very sad to see that that lady work so hard for her money and this little thug gunned her down in her home like a dog. If the lady came out to check to see what the problem was with her daughter why couldn't he just stick them up, take the money since he so desperate, and leave? My God. Young man you have taken a life, a life you did not give. May you toss and turn in your bed, may your skin scratch you all night that you cannot sleep, may demons torment you in your sleep until you confess to this gruesome murder. How much money did you get from that bag? Does it make you happy? Can it last you a lifetime so that you no longer have to rob or seek work? You better turn yourself in because you will never know peace. Mother and father, watch your sons carefully, watch their movements. Many of you fall fast asleep in your beds and sleep comfortably while your boys are out until the wee hours of the morning doing all kinds of ungodly acts and heinous crimes. You too will have to answer for these monsters that you have created.

May God soothe the aching hearts of the family, especially her daughter who witnessed the murder of her mom.

BVI we need to march, march down to the Commissioner of Police office, the Governor's office and the office of the Premier, urging them to do something about these crimes. I suggest first of all that more lights be installed on these dark roads. These roads are crime-infested roads mainly because they are so dark. This is a recipe for the crime. Premier, I beg you, forget about gambling and drag racing and do whatever is in your power to do to protect the law-abiding citizens of this country.

You have devastated, hurt and caused so much pain on the family of the victim. You took the life of a mother who was in her home for no reason. YOU VIOLATED THE MOTHER AND HER FAMILY IN THE MOST VICIOUS AND VILE WAY. YOU NEED TO TURN YOURSELF IN TO THE AUTHORITIES BECAUSE YOU COULD NEVER WALK THESE STREETS AGAIN. I ALSO URGE THE POLITICIANS TO SPEAK OUT AND PUT PRESSURE ON YOU AND YOUR PARENT TO DO THE RIGHT THING. YOU HAVE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR
ACTIONS. HAVE TO SAY IT, THE TRUE GANGSTERS IN THE BVI WILL NEVER ROB AND SHOOT A PERSON MOTHER IN THE HEAD FOR A FEW DOLLARS. YOU LITTLE BOYS OUT HERE PLAYING GANGSTER MEN BEHIND A GUN THAT YOU DON’T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO HANDLE WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE STREET CODE.

I just can’t believe Ms. Catherine a loving mother, humble, kind, law abiding, love her Country, never go caught up in any of the negative would be senselessly gun down in her home, her sanctuary, here place of peace and safety. My mother is in the same age range and when I look at my mother I cry because that could have been my mother.

this lady who I have known of for many many years has never troubled a soul. and the idea that a woman, who did not trouble anybody, was shot in the head and killed in her own home all because someone wanted a few dollars more in their pockets. is the money stolen an equivalent to what the lady's life was worth? no. this is very troubling on all levels. as a society, we cannot condone this type of behaviour. the persons in authority needs to send a strong message to the perpetrators that this cannot continue without very MAJOR consequences for the offender. this is not the BVI that I have known, and this is not what I want the BVI to be either. if somebody knows something, say something! i am so disgusted that I cannot begin to describe. My condolences to Roy Sr. and Jr., and my condolences to Maricel. I cannot image the pain and suffering that you all are going through. again, I am utterly disgusted of this lady's life being taken...like that.

I agree with you and the people's family should perform the hanging in public or in these gun killing let a family shoot the killer in the same place ( point blank ) that ought to send a strong message / an eye for an eye
