‘Hon Julian Fraser has potential for becoming Premier’ – Bishop Cline
At a press conference on Monday July 7, 2014, Cline and Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP), Third District Representative Honourable Julian Fraser RA both have set the record straight that they are for nation building and their political affiliations has no influence on their otherwise relationship.
At the time both Bishop Cline and Hon. Fraser were fielding questions from the media as together they launched the Hon. Julian Fraser Save the Seed 2nd Annual National Basketball tournament.
In fact Bishop Cline stated clearly that he has no sides. “For me I don’t have side,” he said and further added, “I may prefer the strategy of one person versus a next … I don’t think any person is perfect, any political party has all the answers.”
He said it is a group of thirteen persons are elected to sit as a government, “…and I expect thirteen people to serve the people of the British Virgin Islands… I am happy more so that I have this relationship with Hon Fraser… he has the potential for being the next Premier, you cannot underestimate that.”
For Bishop Cline it has always been a privilege working with leaders of the country and communities are always privileged as they set out to achieve nation building. “It’s always a privilege no matter what side they are on. So for me it’s an opportunity to make an impact… that I am interested in the end of the day.”
“Bishop I always viewed you as a businessman. I never thought you had political sides… if you do have one I would hope it’s my side,” Hon Fraser said in his response.
Hon Fraser said that should he ascend to the office of Premier it might be an opportunity for him to do more for youths across the Territory and influence the setting up of more facilities like Save the Seed Energy Centre among others.
