ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists will be celebrating their 37th USVI/BVI Pathfinder Congressoree here on Tortola from May 24 – 26, 2013.

Over 500 visiting pathfinders and staff members along with the local contingent will gather together to celebrate under the theme, “A Powerful Generation Praying, Studying, and Witnessing: Our God is Able”.

The weekend celebration will begin with a consecration service on Friday evening, May 24, 2013 at 7 P.M. at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

The spiritual evening will include Pathfinders singing joyful melodies together and participating in Bible Search and Bible Bowl activities. These activities were designed to provide the youth with a firm foundation and appreciation through bible study and memorization of scripture.

At 9 A.M. on Saturday at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex, the Pathfinders will participate in a morning devotional activity that tests scriptural memorization and a dramatic production of the crucifixion of Christ will also be presented. The morning will be highlighted with an investiture service presenting all who have successfully completed assigned requirements to move from one class to another.

The Pathfinder Congressoree events will continue at 4 P.M. on Saturday afternoon with a grand Parade of Witness throughout Road Town. Uniformed Pathfinders, Guides and Drum Corps will assemble at the Elmore Stoutt High School grounds in platoons to march throughout Road Town with their banners, Club flags, and national flags.

Supporters will also display fliers and posters with the intent of raising public awareness on the negative effects of abuse perpetrated on children, domestic violence, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and illicit drugs.

The Congressoree will climax on Sunday at the softball field with inspection of uniforms, drill exhibitions, drum corps display, craft display, sporting events and a food sale starting at 8 A.M. until.

The general public is invited to come out and share this weekend with us.

The Pathfinder Club is a worldwide organization for young people ages 10 – 16 and is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Club offers camping and survival skills, leadership training, outreach activities, spiritual and personal guidance.
