Rymer vows to continue fighting for the 9th district
Despite not winning the 9th district seat, Rymer pledges address problems that the constituents face.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Ensuring residents have access to all beaches in Virgin Gorda is one of many concerns Lorie Rymer, a 9th district candidate in the 2011 election, pledges to continue to fight for and will raise with the newly elected Government – the National Democratic Party (NDP).
Speaking recently to Virgin Islands News Online, Rymer stated that residents continue to be denied access to beaches including Mango Bay and Valley Truck.
However, he alluded to the fact that the law is the law which can’t be changed at the drop of a hat.
“It’s in the Planning Act. Number 15 of 2004 of that Act speaks clearly to that,” Rymer explained.
Furthermore, the businessman intends to lobby for the 12 acres of land at Carato Bay, which is located at the eastern side of the island, not to be leased to Victor Johnson, a US resort developer. According to him, the area contains old burial sites.
“I have other matters that I will let the Government know about. I am just giving them time to settle in,” he said.
When asked what he thinks of the new Premier, Rymer replied, “Dr. Smith is a good and decent man who has surrounded himself with a good team, and I hope things will be handled properly.”

AMEN!!!!!!!!
Can someone tell these fools the election is over and the NDP in?
Rymer Rymer go home we sick of hearing your fart
All beaches in the BVI should be accessible to all Virgin Islanders and residents. If Lorie is correct about Mango Bay and Valley Truck, this situation is unacceptable and has no place in these Virgin Islands. And need to be changed soonest. Losing an election does not mean that one should not care about issues in a district or in the territory for that matter. The election is not end of one’s interest in one’s country. I applaud Lorie for not lapping his tail and going into hiding. Instead, it is laudable that he continue to fight. Lorie keep fighting for the 9th and the territory.
come on back off Lorie the last election proved that anyone could be elected
then in that case you should run….
another ungrateful son of a gun…after Lavity and Ralph give he the concession for free in the Admin complex he turn against the VIP..he help negotiate the biwater deal and turn against it…poor child
If some of you people don’t like what Lars have to say then don’t read the article, its real simple. Geeze man! Everybody has their own opinion. Laurie Rymer’s views are as valuable as anyone else, as a matter of fact he make some real good points.
