ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Walter Springette, a constant visitor to the Magistrate’s Court, will have to wait until February 23, 2012 to know how long he will remain in Her Majesty’s Prison for six counts of burglary; one count attempted burglary; one count criminal trespass and one count of being armed with an offensive weapon.

Springette, who is serving prison time for another offence, pleaded guilty to the above mentioned offences for burglarising Maples and Calder on December 31, 2010.

During a court appearance this morning, Friday December 16, 2011, Magistrate Tamia Richards informed the defendant that the court is awaiting the social inquiry report from his case worker.

Springette is no stranger to the court and according to records, was arrested following the break in at Maples and Calder.

After compiling an inventory it was realized that two BlackBerry Curve mobile phones, one Nokia mobile phone, one bag containing software CDs, one bag with discarded SIMS and a Barack Obama watch were stolen – all totalling $3,716 – from the firm.

Some of the items were recovered.
