Governor McCleary out of the Territory
His Excellency, the Governor, Boyd McCleary
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – His Excellency the Governor Boyd McCleary, CMG, CVO is currently out of the Territory, and is expected back on Monday, November 22, 2010.
According to a Government Information Service (GIS) press release he departed yesterday, Sunday, November 14.
In light of this, V. Inez Archibald, Deputy Governor, will serve as Acting Governor during his absence.
Mrs. Archibald’s appointment is pursuant to section 37 of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007.
According to the section, during any period when the Governor is absent from the Virgin Islands, the Deputy Governor or any other person designated by Her Majesty shall act in the office of Governor and perform the duties accordingly.
