East End/Long Look festival pageant held ahead of Monday’s official opening

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Contestant no: 2 Aneika Blyden walked away with the coveted title of Miss East End/Long Look at the end of the pageant held at the HLS Community College auditorium on Thursday night.
She outdid the other three contestants in the event, which preceded the official and traditional August Monday start of the annual East End/Long Look Festival.
Blyden also captured Best Talent and Best Swim Suit.
For her efforts, she was presented with a two-year scholarship tenable at the H.Lavity Stoutt Community College HLSCC, a laptop computer, $1000 cash prize, a Digicel BlackBerry cellphone and other gifts.
The first runner up was Contestant no: 1 – Jerema Vanterpool, who won an Ipad Touch System, a cellphone, $500 cash and other prizes.
The other contestants in the pageant were Diana Pickering and Tisheam Smith. They each received $250 cash, digital cameras and other prizes. Smith was awarded Miss Congeniality and Miss Popularity.
Pickering won Miss Photogenic, while Vanterpool picked up Best Evening Gown, Best Back in Time Wear and Best Intro.
