Miss Lambert was called into the store for the grand prize drawing on the last day of May.

“When Ms. Burns called me that day I was optimistic, but have never won anything in my life,” she said. “On the day, I was just standing there minding my own business, then they called us to the podium and we had to pull an envelope. The first woman actually touched the second envelope and then changed her mind. I just closed my eyes and chose it!”

Kept in suspense, she didn’t know she had won.

“Everyone seemed to know I had won before I did,” Miss Lambert said.

Then Ms Burns exclaimed, “We have a winner, it’s Miss Lambert!”

“I was raging with joy,” she said. “Honestly words can’t express how I felt. As a child it was always a dream to go to Africa. I’m just blown away.”

Miss Lambert wanted Brazil or England to be in the final, but is just happy she will be there. She is also looking forward to seeing the Zoo and the Wild Animals.

“I have been a long time user of Digicel and thoroughly recommend them for their services and for their competitions,” she said. “I know people back home who have even won houses in their competitions.”

Digicel is a Regional broadcast sponsor of the World Cup and ran the competion across the Caribbean. Overall, 40 lucky customers will be attending the Final from across the region at a cost of nearly $30,000 per person. Not only is the trip all-expenses paid, but also includes a per diem for each winner and many giveaways as part of the promotion.

To enter all customers had to do was top up their phone with $15 and purchase a phone.

As for the infamous Vuvuzela, Miss Lambert said she will be there in crowd but not sure if she will be blowing on one.

“But you will see me in the crowd,” she said assuredly.
