ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Randy Georges aka Vital, brother of the late Reggie Georges has released a song which is a tribute to his late brother to commemorate the five year anniversary of his sudden passing on July 13, 2006.
The song, “See You Again”, was recently released to the Virgin Islands public on local radio stations and other websites.
“See You Again” is an island-hop song that was written, composed and arranged by Randy Georges and features vocals by Oren Hodge (of Blue Essence) and Kirk Adams, with studio engineer work contributed by Lincoln Ward of Beat Link Productions.
Rap vocal recording and studio production was done at 417 Dream Studios in Springfield, MO with studio engineer Oney Langley. The bridge melody was co-written by Pierre Jamerson of Springfield, MO. The song is topped off by a soul-stirring steel pan solo by James Gittens of St. Thomas, USVI. Finally, the instrumental/beat was produced by Kamau Georges who also did all the final production engineering and mixing.
“My prayer is that this song will minister to and heal the broken hearts of any and everyone who has experienced the pain of losing a loved one. I also hope to increase awareness of the amazing, world-class talent of local Virgin Islands artists,” said Georges.
He said major media corporations and radio stations across the U.S. and Europe could learn a lot from the Virgin Islands when it comes to supporting local talent since “no one does it like the V.I.!”
Reggie Georges was an avid musician, song-writer, composer and not to mention a phenomenal Steel Pan player who was well-known throughout the Virgin Islands.
His musical journey began with the Phoenix Band during his last two years at the B.V.I. High School (now the Elmore Stoutt High School). After graduating from high school in 1990, he received formal training in Broadcast Journalism at the BBC in the United Kingdom. Upon his return, Reggie worked as a news announcer for both radio stations ZBVI and ZROD. Shortly after this, he began to pursue his full-time career in music. His passion for music took him on a journey that touched many lives. He was a die-hard member of the Shooting Stars Steel Orchestra and eventually branched out on his own as a solo artist. Reggie has played at virtually every bar, restaurant and hotel across the VI. His later years included working with many local artists in his home studio as well as writing and producing his own albums.

This song is a reflection of how so many of us go through life thinking we have forever and a day to get things right in our lives and show our loved ones just what they really mean to us.
