ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Held under the theme a colourful cultural paradise, contestant #3 Davina Mitchel was crowned Miss East End/Long Look a little after 11 p.m. last evening Thursday July 28 at the EE/LL community centre.

From the inception, Ms. Mitchel, 18, made an impact on the crowd and evidently the judges, with her sparkling personality and kilowatt smile. She won Best Intro, Best Talent, Best Back In Time Wear, Best Evening Wear, Best Swim Wear and Miss Poise awards.

For her winning performance, she walked away with a cell phone, a two-year scholarship for the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and a laptop, among other prizes.

The first runner-up position went to contestant #4 E’Manie Prince. The other contestants were contestant #1 Daniel Charles who was judged Miss Congeniality and contestant #2 Nicole Gumbs, who won the Miss Photogenic prize.

The young ladies were confident as they introduced themselves to the crowd. Ms. Charles described herself as self-motivated who has a passion for designing and singing. The 17-year-old is currently a student at the Elmore Stoutt High School. Meanwhile, contestant #2 Ms. Gumbs, a 19-year-old, stated that she is a strong and intelligent young lady.

Ms. Mitchel, contestant #3, impressed with her bold statement that she was ready to get rolling and had many smiling when she said she was all set to chug like a locomotive, and 16-year-old Ms. Prince, who desires to become a model, declared that she is the epitome of poise and elegance. She is a graduate of the ESHS.

Swimwear
The young ladies showed off well-toned bodies and oozed sophistication.

Contestant #1 dazzled in a purple one piece getup and accessorised with silver jewellery and shoes and a white rose in her hair. Many in the audience remarked that they loved the look. Meanwhile, contestant #2 was a bit shy in her silver one piece swimwear. She completed the look with fuchsia shoes and jewellery.

A two-piece emblazoned by iridescent droplets was worn by contestant #3, and she complemented her outfit with gold accessories and footwear, and last but not least, contestant #4 chose a blue and white one piece.

Back In Time Wear
Ms. Charles looked fabulous in a gold spandex bell bottom pantsuit. She was a disco queen ready to have some fun. Of course her afro was highlighted with a gold colour. Ms. Gumbs kept the show rolling as an Egyptian.

Portraying a member of the Dream Girls about to make their debut performance was the choice for contestant #3, Ms Michel’s back in time wear. She looked radiant in a multi-coloured dress which was splattered with flowers of pink and purple.

And contestant #4, Ms. Prince, rocked a funky elbow dress, consisting of white, hot pink, blue and black, and completed the look with white fishnet stockings, black shoes and a black hat.
