221 to graduate at HLSCC’s 18th graduation exercise
The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College 18th Graduation Exercise will take place on Thursday June 9, 2011.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Two hundred and twenty students will be graduating this year from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College when the college holds its 18th graduation exercise on Thursday June 9, 2011.
The exercise which will take place under the Tent on the lawns of the Paraquita Bay Campus, will see 173 students graduating from various HLSCC offerings and 48 from the Chartered Management Institute programmes available through the College.
According to a press release issued by the college, the class also includes two pairs of mothers and daughters, one mother and son, and one pair of twin sisters. One student is graduating with a 4.0 grade point average.
As part of the ceremony, Dr. Karl Dawson will deliver the President’s Address, while the keynote speaker will be President of the University of the Virgin Islands Dr. David Hall. Dr. Hall will be introduced by Associate Vice President of HLSCC Dr. Christine Hodge.
Premier Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal and Chairman of the College’s Board of Governors Dr. Charles Wheatley will deliver greetings to the graduands. Vice President Dr. Anne Monroe will also deliver brief remarks in introducing the 2011 class, while President Dawson will award certificates and confer degrees to the graduating students.
Student respondent this year is Lvella Tephanie Titley, who is graduating with the Associate Degree in Science, Business Administration, Accounting Concentration.
