WICKHAM’S CAY II, Tortola, VI – The members of Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (M.A.L.E.) last week held a simple ceremony in remembrance of one of their own who recently passed away following some days in hospital.

Jelani Lettsome, an 11 year old student of the Joyce Samuel Primary School, died on Wednesday November 19, 2014 after being taken to the Peebles Hospital following complaints of head pains.

Lettsome had been a member of the youth mentorship programme up to the time of his death and was said to be an active normal child.

Prior to the commencement of a tour of The Moorings and its facilities last Saturday November 22, 2014, the mentors and young men of M.A.L.E. had a word of prayer before releasing flowers into the water in memory of Lettsome.

The young boys were all reverent and respectful as they were led in the memorial by President of M.A.L.E. Pastor Henderson K. Tittle and mentor McKenzie L. K. Baltimore.

“This guy was an energetic, outgoing person, he loved basketball, he loved fishing, we were planning our fishing trip to be held soon,” said Tittle as he remembered Lettsome.

“The ceremony last Saturday was just remarkable for us because we wanted to remember him because he loved the sea, he loved to go on boats. So the whole visit to Moorings was in celebration to him because we didn’t get to go on the fishing trip we promised him. So we decided to go to The Moorings, have some time of silence and then release the flowers in memory of him,” said Pastor Tittle.
