ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Youths of the Virgin Islands (VI) are encouraged to enjoy their youthful days while it still exists and not to be in a “rush to grown up”.

This was the advice given by Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron Walwyn at a symposium held for the 2012 graduating class of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) on June 18, 2012 at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

The Minister, in reminiscing on his time as a youth, said he wished he was able to go back in time.

“I wish there was a way I could of gone back in time to tell my younger self to take his time,” said Hon. Walwyn.

He advised the young people to take their time as youths and have faith.

This Thursday June 28, 2012, the ESHS will have their graduation the sports complex, where 198 students will be graduating after being successful at the secondary school leaving examination.

Last Friday June 19, an exit ceremony was held for the ESHS students where prizes and awards were handed out while on Sunday June 24, a special prayer event was held at the New Life Baptist Church where words of encouragement were given to the students.

Out of 206 students, 198 were able to pass the secondary school leaving examination, which represented a 96 percent pass rate for the school.

Elmore Stoutt High, for the second consecutive year, boasted the Territory’s top student. This year Klaudius Maynard is the Territory’s top student and school’s Valedictorian. Last year, Kia Barry, also of ESHS, was named the Territory’s top student.
