ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Seen as a short man in stature, Chairman of the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) Bishop John I. Cline is said to have a very big job to do as the new Peebles Hospital officially opens.

This was a noted observation of Leader of the Opposition Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal OBE who said to those present at the opening ceremony on December 17, 2014 and to the Bishop himself, “I would like to say to the Bishop that he has a big job, he small but he got a big job and some of us watching to see how he get on you know! So, and I told him that already.”

Hon O’Neal also said that the building will be watched very carefully, “and we will want to make sure that it maintains standards and that can only be done by the people working there making sure it is done.”

On the other hand while showering praise on Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton for giving him the job to overlook the operations of the entity Bishop Cline underscored that it is a job that has the hardest working board that is not paid for what they do.

“I want to thank him (Hon Skelton) for giving me the opportunity for to serve as the Chairman of the BVI Health Services Authority and under his leadership we were able to partner with the Ministry (of Health) and the public in helping to see this dream for the BVI to come to pass,” said Bishop Cline.

He further said, “I would like to also recognize the hardest working board in the British Virgin Islands, sometimes you all don’t know who they are, they don’t pay us for this but we give our time and they give their service and their intellectual capacity in helping to execute the vision of the Ministry.”
