ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Dr Michael A. Turnbull yesterday June 5, 2016 opened the Wellness Centre Behavioural Health Clinic in the Sir Olva Georges Plaza in Road Town on the main island of Tortola.

The facility will provide treatment to children and families in issues of anger management and psychological evaluations.

Dr Turnbull, who has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, said it has always been his goal to open such a facility following his return home after completing his doctoral certification.

"My specialty as a Clinical Psychologist is in children and family. The main goal is to help people to live well so the therapeutic services and clinical interventions are geared towards holistic wellness using the arts and the science of Psychology."

Dr Turnbull, the brother of Second District Representative Hon Melvin 'Mitch' Turnbull, said he will be adding more clinicians to the staff as they continue to expand its servies, including medication management and group therapy.

He said in July this year will be a social skills camp which will be geared towards teaching children and adolescents social skills in terms of anger management, dealing with difficulty and managing conflict and mental health issues.

It was since 2012 after graduating from Agosy University, USA with a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology that Dr Turnbull had expressed his intentions to return to serve in the Virgin Islands, a story reported by Virgin Islands News Online.

Meanwhile, all of the services offered by the Wellness Centre Behavioural Health Clinic are covered by the National Health Insurance (NHI) and there is no co payment.

"We know families can run into economic difficulties and we don't want that to be a hindrance. We just want them to get help and make sure that we are confidential so that they could feel safe in the environment here," Dr Turnbull said.

For appointments, persons are asked to call 284 496 0838 or 284 442 4357 or email info@twcbh.com.

IT WAS A SMART MOVE TO LINK UP WITH THE HEALTH AUTHORITY. These people always look out for each other. That way business is guaranteed. THE FAMILY..NDP symbol.

Are you kidding? NDP in office if your kid blink too hard at a teacher now they will send them there with the quickness and the tax payers will foot the bill through NHI. Another angle for NDPer to get out the system.

Thank You Dr. Turnbull for opening such a Center. With all the above foolish comments, I guess issues of anger management and psychological evaluation need never reach the above homes. I will be using your service for my young adult son.
