ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Talk Show host and social commentator Julio ‘Sam’ Henry is challenging persons to be more vocal in their calls for change and is disputing those who feel that his talk show ‘Speak Your Mind’ and others like it are ineffective and a waste of time.

The show was aired live on JTV on Saturday January 10, 2015 where he and cohost Richard C. De Castro dealt with a number of topical issues.

He said that for the people who keep saying that the show has not brought about change, he has documentary evidence that changes came as a result of the agitation of the show and its callers.

“If you are one of those doubters who say we didn’t get any changes you’re wrong…look back, reflect and then look at where you are. I could give you several examples when changes come as a result of advocacy. If you don’t advocate for change you won’t get change. If you don’t make your voices heard nobody would hear you,” he said.

‘Don’t suffer in silence people or you will get nothing done,” he said.

Henry is of the view that people have the perception that because of the Territory being a civilized society, protesting for one’s rights seems out of place. He said that this notion must be dispelled with quickly.

The deep root of the issue is that the NDP and VIP are more concerned with getting political power (and the benefits that they can get) than seriously managing the BVI's economy out of all the negatives: cronyism, backwardness, nepotism, no growth, unfairness, injustice, immorality.
Therefore neither of them has credible leaders ... nor followers ...
