ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – While lauding Communications and Works Minister Mark Vanterpool for his commitment to tackle sewerage woes in the Territory, former Minister Julian Fraser RA has advised him to be "courageous" in his decision making.

“Sewerage is a major issue in the Territory. Hence someone has to be courageous enough to deal with it and deal with it effectively. You are not going to get any friends dealing with it because it’s a messy business. It’s hard, it’s a lot of work that is going to cost a lot of money,” disclosed Hon. Fraser at the House of Assembly (HOA) sitting that was held on December 21, 2011.

The 3rd district representative, who played a role in BiWater being hired to remedy sewerage on Tortola, added he will not go as far as to wish Hon. Vanterpool luck because “I will be patronizing him”.

“All I can say is that the things that he [Hon. Vanterpool] has outlined, what he will have his officers do is a tough row to hoe. If he can achieve what he says then he is on the right track, but this is no small issue Madam Speaker, the National Sewerage project has been going since 2002. It’s a roller coaster, one time it’s on, one time it’s off. It goes back on and I hope it stays on or else we will never get this issue under control,” the 3rd district rep. stated.

Meanwhile, at the same HOA sitting, Minister Vanterpool had noted that the cost of fixing the sewerage was in the vicinity of $24M, adding more monies may be needed to complete the project. However, Hon. Fraser cautioned that additional funding should not scare the Minister.

“You get the tendency to pull back, meaning to stop the project. Its real…East End, Long Look, Road Town, and I want the Minister to take a look at the budget estimates…he must look at the notes and he will see Sea Cows Bay in there too. We have a sewerage collection and treatment problem in Sea Cows Bay as well and is one that must be dealt with,” he added.

Fraser know that this task take a lot of money, yet he wasting the money paving this long stretch of road that wasn't priority. He knows that Sea Cows Bay has sewage problems and opted to "fix road" that didnt' need fixing. Fraser, don't worry, Action Man will show you how to get it done. That's why you will forever be on the opposition, you VIP people have no clue, that's why everything is a challenge. Hopefully the third district will wise up and vote for someone with a vision for there district and not a handout party.

billy b: u r a darn fool, before Fraser left office the arrangements to fix the problems of sewage in Tortola were already made, so I don't see the connection between the road in Sea Cows Bay and sewage. You just can't get over the fact that Fraser kicked your Kass, but u will get over it. Funding for the East End /ong Look and Road Town Sewage comes from a loan from Banco Popular, but u won't know about that because your head is so far up your a*****. Biwater has the Sewage Treatment Plants for East End / Long Look and Road Town covered, and all the pumping stations covered. All this done by Fraser. So what did u say Fraser didn't do? Now talk that.

Idiot couldn't be a better name for you. I AM over the fact that Fraser kicked a**, simply because he is and forever will be on the opposition. Secondly, Fraser know so much, he did so much, he has the answer for every thing, yet after all this time he is still in awe and wonder, "how will this thing be accomplished", and I am here to tell you and Fraser that Action Man will show him exactly how to do it. Now, U TEK DAT!!!!

Both VIP and NDP ignored the sewage problem. Both of them should be voted out for putting the lives of ALL residents of the BVI at risk.
