ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Write to Read, a learning initiative by sisters Sharie B. de Castro and Sharia B. de Castro are enthused about the opportunity to the territory’s children that they offer in A Positive Drive, a children’s motivational funday on Friday May 20, 2016.

The event will be taking place at the Save The Seed Energy Centre in Duffs Bottom. It will be between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm and will be for children between the ages of 5 - 15 years of age. The cost is $20 per child with Lunch and Bowling included. However, children must bring snacks and drinks.

The theme of the programme is Give Motivation! Give Love! Give Hope! Give Life!

According to the de Castro sisters, the purpose of the Drive is to to help maintain a safe, stable and healthy VI for its children emotionally, mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.

It also aims to create a bank of people, of donors, of new blood, who will give of themselves, their time, resources or finances to help children in the territory.

During the programme there will be a diagnosis and this session will be very interactive and probing to identify the needs of the children in attendance.

At the planned donor sessions, persons will donate their time through interactive motivational speaking and mentorship to help give the children the boost and encouragement they need.

Topics to be studied will be patterned after blood types and hence there is ‘O so Positive Thinking: Dream Big’, ‘A Positive Self- Image: BElieve in YOUrself’, ‘B Positive - Anything Is Possible’, and ‘AB - Anti-Bullying: You Are Enough’.

Persons can sign up their child by inboxing the de Castro sisters or calling 442-7335 or emailing writetoreadbvi@gmail.com and a registration form will be emailed to them.

Emergency Donors Needed!

"We decided to launch this programme this Friday May 20, 2016 since children are off from school to keep them gainfully occupied while their parents are at work. Also with End of Year Comprehensive Exams swiftly approaching, this is the perfect time to motivate children to do their best. Parents this event is a perfect match for your child. Sign up your child today," said Sharie B. de Castro in a comment to this news site.

Also, we are overwhelmed by the support thus far due to persons expressing their desire and commitment to sponsor a child. Therefore, we've created 5 donor categories for other persons or businesses who may be interested in doing the same.

Types of Donors:
Diamond Donor: $100 sponsors 5 children
Platinum Donor: $80 sponsors 4 children
Gold Donor: $60 sponsors 3 children
Silver Donor: $40 sponsors 2 children
Bronze Donor: $20 sponsors 1 child

“Some people have come forward and requested to donate $20 to sponsor a child's attendance. If you would like to do this please let me know,” said de Castro.

“We are also seeking persons interested in donating their time by volunteering to help facilitate sessions and activities,” she said.

“I believe that our children are in urgent need of positive reinforcement. We must stop talking at them and about them and start finding ways to help them. Here is your chance! Be a part the change you wish to see!” she said.
