Wins for And One & Mystics as Summer League Playoffs underway

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Playoffs in the BVI Basketball Federation’s summer league got underway on Wednesday July 26 2017, with the referee pay dispute resolved and wins for And One and Mystics.

The Summer League has not been without its problems in 2017, but the excitement is finally beginning to build as the Tournament comes down to the wire.

And One blew away the Junior Mystics, 90-69, in game one of their best of three series, led by 21 points and 13 rebounds from Dillon Etienne.

Malachy Payne added 17 points, Jonoi Levons 11 and Kemoi Walters 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Junior Mystics got 21 points and 10 rebounds from Kasean Wylie, 10 points, 9 rebounds from Samory Romney, whilst both Eliann O’Neal and Stephano Caul scored 9.

Meanwhile, the senior Mystics got the early ascendancy in their series with Go Hard, scrapping to a 102-94 victory., with Killven Samuel notching 32 points and 7 rebounds, Caul scoring 30 points, Kimron Telemaque 12 and Kimani Stevens 11.

Steve Parillon finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds, whilst Travis Isaac grabbed 9 rebounds.

For Go Hard, Demoi Hodge recorded a triple double of 32 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals, Bodean Samuel scored 21 points with 6 rebounds and Devante Brewley finished with 11 points.

Playoff games continue this weekend from July 28, 2017 to July 30, 2017, at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, in Road Town.

Friday 28, July 2017: 6:00 P.M. - Jr East vs Mavs, 7:30 P.M. - Mega Guns vs Legs.

Saturday 29, July 2017:  6:00 P.M. - And One vs Jr Mystics, 7:30 P.M. - Go Hard vs Mystics

9:00 P.M. - Jr East vs Mavs, 10:30 P.M. -Mega Guns vs Legs.

Sunday 30, July 2017: 6:00 P.M. - And One vs Jr. Mystics, 7:30 P.M. - Go Hard vs Mystics 9:00 P.M. - Jr East vs Mavs, 10:30- P.M. Mega Guns vs Legs.
