Williamson outpaces rivals in Ceres 10K Series race at Beef Island

BEEF ISLAND, VI- Guy Williamson turned on the pace on his rivals Reuben Stoby and Ravindra Sukhu to take an easy win in the 4th race of the Ceres Juices 10K Series at Beef Island on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Williamson shrugged of the challenge of Stoby after the first 2-mile lap to win the race, known as the Steelman Warmup, in 40:51.04.

Sukhu fought back to take second place in 41.37.43 while Stoby, who won the final 2-mile race of the HLSCC /Highland Spring Race Series in Virgin Gorda earlier in the day, finished third in 42:48.55.

Maxford Pipe, who also ran the 2-mile race in Virgin Gorda earlier in the day, was fourth in 44:33.19 while Zebalon McLean was fifth in 47:10.71.

Sarah Hayes ((50:15.19) turned back the challenge of Juliane Potgieter (51:28.17) to take the win in the ladies division. Kay Reddy, with her trademark cartwheel finish, was third.

Gerald Rose won the power walking contest while Jennie McCleary took the win for the ladies.

The final race in the Ceres Juices 10K Series is on November 9, 2013 in Road Town.

      The 20122/2012 NACAC series ran in BVI and these guys all placed! Good luck to Ravi who is off to Guadelope to participate in the 2013 series. Though Eagle Eye if you can run sub forty come and beat up on these Guys! (thats 6 miles not 1 haha!)
