Bayside Blazers & Pure Playaz reach finals for second year in a row

In the big showdown and in a do or die encounter, defending champions Bayside Blazers survived a third quarter heroics by Skillful Ballers to come out 90-79 winners.

Bayside Blazers seemed set on making it a lopsided affair with the ever aggressive Douron R. Phillip, Aubrey S. Daniel and marksman Hansen S. Donato combining to get the Blazers’ scoring rapidly ticking over early in the game.

Skillful Ballers; however, fought back and had their best success in the third quarter when they levelled the scores, to much applause from their fans, and then went into the lead by two points, 49-47, with 7:47 minutes remaining in the quarter.

It was a tight battle from then on and the third quarter expired with the scores leveled at 58 apiece.

Bayside Blazers; however, stepped up the fight in the final quarter and eventually ran out convincing winners to set up a championship showdown with Pure Playaz for a second consecutive year.

Game one of the best of 3 championships is set for 6:30pm at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom, Tortola, today, Sunday, November 17, 2019.
