VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- It will be the ‘mother of all games’ tonight December 10, 2016 with basketball at its best on the sister island of Virgin Gorda.

While the 2016 ‘B’ and ‘C’ Divisions are already settled, with Beat That taking the C Division Championship and Time 2 Wuk the ‘B’ Division, all eyes are on the ‘A’ Division.

As in both sports and politics, 2016 has brought a lot of surprises with most often the underdogs rising to take the win.

In the 2016 Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League, underdogs Splash Brothers came back to knock off Championship team West Gunners.

Even in the 2016 Federation Basketball League, there was also an upset with three-time Championship Team Legs being dethroned by the Kings

Virgin Gorda 2016

In the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam Basketball League there were also many surprises, with East Rockers, an underdog team, coming to knockoff the Summer Jam’s four-time championship team Set it Off.

Well tonight December 10, 2016 it will be hot action as both teams in the A Division, East Rockers out of Tortola and Up 2 Da Time from Virgin Gorda, are tied with 2 games each in the best of 5 games.

Last night’s game saw Up 2 Da Time winning 90- 80 over East Rockers.

The game tips off at 10: 00 P.M. tonight at the Jeffery Caines Sports Arena located in Valley, Virgin Gorda.

However, at 8:00 P.M. fans can enjoy an over 40 game between Tortola over 40s and Virgin Gorda’s, according to the Virgin Gorda Basketball Association President Trevor M. ‘West’ Stevens.

Security is also expected to be beefed up. Meanwhile, Speedy’s Ferry Service has a special trip after the game, departing Virgin Gorda at 1:00 A.M. Sunday morning December 11, 2016 and going to Beef Island’s Trellis Bay.
