ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Virgin Islands talk show regular Winston E. Nibbs aka La Fontey said he and the rest of the persons who were part of the delegation to the Premier on the National Health Insurance (NHI) petition are not going to hide behind blogs but be out in the open as they wage their battle.

He was speaking as a guest on Speak Out BVI hosted by Natalio D. Wheatley aka Sowande Uhuru last evening October 13, 2015 on ZBVI 780 AM. Regular host of the show Doug Wheatley was said to be unwell.

The group held what is being hailed as a good-natured meeting yesterday following its postponement from the previously set date of Friday October 9, 2015. The Premier was given a thorough presentation of the group’s arguments for sending the NHI back to the drawing board.

“We are not claiming to be the Tsars of anything. We are actually concerned citizens who are not going to hide behind blogs. We are willing to speak publicly. We’re willing to have our picture taken left, right and centre…give me your best shot I’ll take it…and we will try our very best if folks come up to us and say they would like us to say something on their behalf, we would,” he said.

“I follow in the footsteps of Mr Edmund G. Maduro and my own father, very outspoken people who believe in justice,” he said.

He commended the Premier Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith for his receptiveness in the meeting. “I know that some people would say this is a bluff. But trust me, this was no bluff. He was genuine,” said Nibbs of Premier Smith.

The entourage included Nibbs, Natalio D. Wheatley, Doug Wheatley, Edmund G. Maduro, Michael 'Marlo' Chinnery and Collinston George.

This skit reminds me of the last election where candidates opened their mouths only to exhibit their ignorance with misinformation and lack of information thereby sealing their fate at the polls.
This Nibbs gentleman from Antigua should understand that the Nibbs' from Tortola , are not protesting and that the issue is a BVI issue. We have great respect for the Nbbs family of the BVI and he would be kind if he used La Fontey, one of his other names.
If he is trying to wet his feet for the next Election he should find another horse 'cause this one is dead .
    The majority rules.
Perhaps if he came with a solution to wipe out the current 30 millions plus of US Dollars owed to the medical establishment by patients, he might gain more support. Right now, that is the real problem and a big big problem .

Excuse me @Simchi, I beg to differ in your opinion and views for which you are entitled to, but the origin of Nibbs in the BVI migrated from Antigua. Thank You! NIBBS is NIBBS!!

One thing that can be said about the BVI, the price for 15 mins of fame is very cheap. Wow.

The rich will eat-up all of NHI money, You will never see a rich person lying on a Peebles Hospital bed, They catching a Plane out of here. Let them pay their fair share. (I am not rich and I don`t want to be in a Peebles Hospital bed)It should be a P.A.Y.E paid structure, with them paying more means lot more cash flowing into the pool, maybe then they can consider a percentage reduction for all. I don`t have a Visa, I hope I can go to Santo Domingo, or Panama I heard they have good health service and facilities there,

    Not true!
Do your research in the archives of London and speak with members of the Nibbs famiily in the BVI.
Also research the ancestry sight of Nibbs/Knibbs.
There were two brothers who were slave owners.
One operated in Antigua and one in Tortola.
The name Nibbs was a result of slave ownership on the plantation which was located in Sea Cows Bay.
