VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- The Virgin Gorda community has been thrown into a state of shock and mourning with the sudden passing of one of its popular sons.

Ali O'Neal, a 41-year-old Virgin Islander, was discovered unresponsive on his bed early yesterday morning, October 28, 2020.

Mr O'Neal was well-loved and known in the community for the energy and effort he put into social and other activates and towards the running of his private businesses.

According to reports, prior to his death Mr O’Neal was diagnosed with a chronic condition and only two weeks ago was discharged from Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital on Tortola.

While at home; however, he had reportedly complained of “unbearable pains” about his body.

‘Another soldier has fallen’

Among those expressing condolences to the family and friends of the deceased was Ninth District Representative and Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley.

I did not believe the news. I’ve lived abroad for 17 years but come back to visit at least once a year, when I can. You were always smiling and joyful whenever I saw you. I brought my fiancé home with me for the first time in Christmas 2018 and when you saw me you lit up and welcomed him with open arms. We need more people like you in this world. Rest in peace Bull. A character that will definitely be missed by many.

Very sad news about Bull. Always had a huge personality and an even bigger smile. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. It's just wrong 2020 has to be the final year of life for some.
