He would have coverage for care instead of being out of pocket. Co Pay for overseas would be 20% and 10% at the hospital. Say his local hospital bill was $5000 and overseas bill $25,000 he would pay $5,500 and NHI pay the rest. This is where a good supplemental policy would be useful.

I seen this guy come in the ER and the people at front desk asking him to sign his form before he can seek medical attention. . it's it's a pitty kind of ignorant people working front desk. on another note. I hope he will be okay

More than a half-wit should be assigned to triage persons at ER. What if this man had airway issues and collapsed. What would the half-wit do then?

A brand new hospital and yet they can't treat a burn victim. Is PR a member of the NHI's network?

Burns is a specialized treatment. Even in major countries after assessment at your local ER you will be transferred to a burns unit, can be many miles away.

A multimillion dollar facility should have a Burn Unit. For being understaff, this hospital has thre (3) Security staff, who act as Ushers, and two staff at Reception , when only one dealing with the people. When visiting patients, I've seen dozens of staff aroung the Nurse Station, most of hem idle & chatting, not very busy. They should invest in equipment if they want to push this NHI. There is not even a Blood Bank in Tortola!

Why did it happen in the first place? These things don't "just" happen. An explosion suggests to me there were flammable liquids nearby.
