ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- "Together we say, 'Happy Father’s Day' to all our fathers and father figures. We thank you for the many sacrifices you have made to nurture your families. Our fathers are our protectors. They are our heroes, and our mentors," were some of the words of Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) in his Father's Day Message today, June 21, 2020.

Honourable Fahie said although, Father’s Day continues to be tough for him because he is no longer able to enjoy the company of his own dad who is no longer alive, he honours his legacy by remembering the teachable moments in his heart, many of which he said have shaped his thinking and perspective on life.

'Hold on to life lessons, share wisdom'

"I know that some of you are in the same situation, and are missing your fathers who may have passed, I encourage you to hold on to the life lessons they have taught you in their wisdom. I implore you to share the lessons with your children so that they may be able to teach their children and keep the traditions alive.

"To those of you, who are fortunate to have your dads, whether a single parent dad or a father who is in the nuclear or extended families, let us continue to cherish them and let them know how much you love them and appreciate them for what they do."

Premier Fahie, a father himself, said his prayer is that fathers continue to be the strength of their families and that our Heavenly Father continues to give them the knowledge and fortitude to lead their household.

"May God continue to protect us, shield us and guide us as we all live a life that is pleasing unto Him who is able to provide us with all that we ever can ask of him.

"Happy Father’s Day!"

They are so many fathers that got locked out from their families .and so many Sons and Daughters that wont see or spend father's day with their fathers....This is Sad....More effort really need to be done to return long living residents of the territory to rejoin their families..... "Happy Father's day to all Dads"

Black people need to be seriously re educated. We are far away from our african strength. 99% white people education and 1% or less knowledge of africa.3peice suit wearing is a sign of one who is for the system so don't expect better.

@Eagle eye.. does All of your comment really make sense?.. It’s not “white people education”- it’s education for all that can afford to have it .. you think Obama became President because of his handsome looks or his African heritage?..No! God and His Ivy League education at Harvard got him there/being a Senator.. Yes I do agree with you that Our children should learn more about our African heritage instead of just the slavery aspect of it.. but don’t be foolish- some of us get to the top without a “college” education by working our way there While that “ Piece of paper” is what speaks volume to open doors ..(and If I misunderstood your comment I’m sorry)
