ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Admitting that they have the older population of the Territory ‘locked’ Caribbean Insurers Limited’s (CIL) Simone T. Monsanto says that they are in the process of fashioning their marketing strategies to attract the younger generation into their fold.

They started that campaign with their first jingle competition which was followed last evening September 12, 2014 with a fashion show and social extravaganza titled ‘A Walk to Remember’.

A ‘Walk to Remember’ was a collaborative event that saw LIME BVI, Caribbean Insurers Limited (CIL) and UMI Fashions together for a fun evening with several attractions. The fashion show featured some surprise and high profile models. Ms Monsanto said that it was an idea that came to life and achieved its objectives.

“We teamed up with UMI because we are very close friends, business associates and most of our girls shop at UMI so teaming up with UMI for this promotion shows that corporate BVI can do things together to make life enjoyable for the people we serve,” said Ms Monsanto.

She said that LIME came into the play having heard of the initiative and thought it was a good one for this week’s draw of their $5k give-away. “It was great to note that the first male of the LIME promotion was pulled here on our beautiful courtyard,” she added.

The courtyard of CIL was filled to capacity complete with a VIP section in the ‘over look’ of the building which was crowded with some of the Territory’s most high profile business entrepreneurs, political leaders and legislators and educators. Down below and for the greater part at the sides of the runway were dozens of children which attested to the fact that the event was also designed to create a family oriented atmosphere.

With seasoned models, first timers and internationally recognized persons there was one who came as a big but well favoured surprise, Representative of the First District Honourable Andrew A. Fahie who was stunning and sharp, hitting the run-way clean cut in a fashionable trendy royal blue shirt outfitted with a dark colour suit.

This sparked the debate among some persons in the audience as to which legislator would take the treasure coin should they all battle and settle their fires that are exhibited in the House of Assemble on the fashion runway.

“That would be a nice way for them to all hug, shake hands and bond as one to move this country forward,” said one member of the audience. “Fahie (Hon) was here tonight on stage and sharp, we saw Alvin (Hon J. Alvin Christopher) on UMI adverts and he was smashing hot, let’s see the other boy like Myron (Hon Walwyn), Mark (Hon Vanterpool) even Dr Smith (Premier) that would be so much fun, we see them at war let’s see the other side of them… we challenge them to come out as citizens. Fraser (Hon Julian Fraser RA) it would be so nice for the people of the Territory,” added another.

The location of the event was selected to boost the use of open spaces in the capital and to encourage persons to see the value of unusual environments in the town and according to Ms Monsanto they are very likely to stage another before or during the Christmas season of this year.
