‘We must defend VIP against NDP lies’ – Hon Andrew A. Fahie
At the time of making that statement Hon Fahie was dispelling the notion that the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) is not in support of the Cruise Pier Project as he addressed the gathering at the recent VIP community meeting held in Carrot Bay on September 17, 2014.
“I want to say something here to those of you who have been hearing a lot about the Cruise Pier Project, I want to say it emphatically – the Opposition is for the Cruise Ship Project, the Virgin Islands Party could not be and cannot be against the project because in fact the VIP built the dock, extended the dock and repaired the dock. So how can you be against the very thing that you are about?” said Hon Fahie
He further said, “We are not against the project it is a good project, it started under the Virgin Islands Party; it was always organized under the Virgin Islands Party; it is a good project.”
Leaving that issue to rest Hon Fahie highlighted his intentions to put “fire under the feet” of the party’s new Chairman Honourable Julian Fraser, RA (R3) for a number of issues. “I told the new chairman here that I would put his foot under the fire …… if he doesn’t address this,” he said noting in the past that things have been falsely circulated about the VIP while they sat and turned a deaf ear.
“It cannot work. We have to make sure that we defend our club. You can’t have this administration telling everybody that we are criminals and thieves! I had to tell them stop some of the things they are saying because I am telling you if I have to respond to some of those things it would have fireworks in town,” said Hon Fahie.
He said that it is his hope that the members of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Government side stop some of the mischievous gossip that they are guilty of propelling and mischief that they are up to. “Because I guarantee you that if it is not stopped, it will not end the same as the last time with the Party,” said Hon Fahie.
He expressed his dismay as to how politics has gone in the country as it seems to him that politics today is about who has money and who is right as opposed to what is right. “There was a time in politics since I was there no matter how you disagree, no matter what side you were on there was always respect,” he noted.
He further said, “And when some of them answer you, some of them, not all, answer you, you want to know if they are talking to a little three year old child. This is nothing I am making up. So at some point you have to take a stand and let them know, listen to me I am elected just like you, yes you have the government we have to respect because I have people that I have to [represent],” said Hon Fahie.
He said that the NDP is guilty of playing a game that resulted in them winning the last election, one that they are continuing to play in order to remain in government.

I am not saying NDP is any better, they are the same too, but we sooooo tired of VIP. You all going around acting like the same old Fraser is going to save your sorry behinds when in reality, he is one of the main ones who were making us suffer and it will happen again my people. We are doomed no matter who is in office unless some totally new young heads join the ranks and save us.
mvw good one me heard you up in vg telling l.es but we ah wait on you
in 2007 campaign Frazier and Alvin team song was THE NDP WAS BRINGING THE INVADERS INSTEAD OF THE INVESTERS How in the world can ANYBODY who is in their wright state of mind follows a party or a group of
non productive, under achievers to carry this little nation ahead BVI DON'T HAVE ANY NATURAL RESOURCES to fully sustain our population
We must be thankful for our geological position in the Caribbean and most of all our culture and politics that we can attract investers from around the globe to conduct business here
