EAST END, Tortola, VI – Yesterday July 27, 2014 as widower Ms Vilna M. Fahie and her four children sat around their breakfast table and with an empty chair at one end they lit a golden candle which burned throughout the day.

They tried hard as they could to hold back tears but at moments just had to let it go because on that day, had nature not taken its actions they would have been with their husband and father the late Police Inspector (PI) Mr Leonard A. Fahie aka "Big youth" celebrating his 50th birth anniversary.

His wife and children invited this news site into the privacy of their home yesterday seeking to share their moments with the rest of the Virgin Islands today.

“We felt him in the spirit, he is not here in person but we feel his presence with us today as it was going to be his golden birthday today, he was going to be 50 today but on March 3 he went to bed and did not wake up, he went to be with his maker but we see him as that guardian angel over us so we celebrate today with him,” said Ms Fahie.

According to Ms Fahie at the time of morning when visited by this news site, had her husband been alive she was sure that she would have still been in bed with him, their children would have been knocking at the bedroom door and making their way in to wish their father a happy birthday and later many other things would have been possible.

“Who knows we might have just been having a quiet day or maybe we would have been going on a cruise, who knows? But what’s important is that we still can today celebrate with him even though he is not here in person with us,” she said.

Apart from spending a quiet day at home they took a wreath to the grave site of their beloved Leonard A. Fahie.
