We cannot save ourselves by selling out our children
Demoting us to elevate themselves:
Those quick to say we are wasting time and effort in speaking out against Social Evils and Corruption because those in authority are not listening are actually expressing their own willingness to behave as sheep in accepting self-destruction… More importantly, they should first understand that our messages are not aimed at puppetising Leaders but rather at enlightening and educating our People.
At the same time we recognise that inherent inefficiency and corruption within Political, Religious and Legal Systems often make doing Good a most difficult mission… Indeed, these Systems use their self-anointed Powers to create 21st Century Slaves by manufacturing Stumbling Blocks for the Weak and Poor; making it practically impossible for Ordinary Man to win in their Arenas of Injustice.
From infancy we are taught not to recognise this or say it even though it is exhibited all across the World… As Society’s Victims we learnt to have more faith in others than in ourselves and became preoccupied with avoiding the challenge of doing necessary things because they claim the act of doing the same things repeatedly and expecting different results is a form of madness.
Formula & Proof of People Power:
That is a lie because they fail to recognise repetition as the formula for practice and that practice makes perfect… They also fail to realise that real Power is in the Fuel and not in the Engine just as real Power is in the People and not the Leaders – Our Work is far from over and we should never agree to ignore the achievements of People Power when we have witnessed it at work before.
While others swore it couldn’t be done we were able to stop Bad Things from happening while initiating Goods that would benefit our People… There are still battles to be won but we should not overlook our successes especially since the same Ingrates that nudge us into doing nothing are the ones most anxious to lay claim and claim benefits for work they opposed or failed to do.
Today there are numerous challenges ahead and it may seem hopeless but this is the time to call on your reserves and remember that you travelled this road before - I was there with you – Remember? – With so little support but so much resistance from our Leaders you the People knowingly and unknowingly applied your People Power and accomplished the impossible.
Against all odds we were able to persuade Governments from dumping our Domicile Seniors up at cold Spooners Hill, prevented them replacing BV-Islanders’ Rights with CARICOM’s Freedom of Trade and Travel, blocked them imposing Immigration Limits on Work Permit Holders and recently stopped them from placing Huge Fees on the Public Health Care of our Children and Seniors.
Together we also won Struggles for a New Beef Island Bridge, Free College Education for our Children, UK Citizenship Passports for our People and Brand New Public Hospital... Think about it - After all this, how can you consider yourselves unable to stand against being forced accomplices in a mission to pay for an NHI Ponzi Scheme or push our Children backwards into Crime and Prison?
Our Hands are already up but do our lives really matter?
Today, many look back and find it impossible to understand the stubborn blindness of leaders who would oppose the good things we fought for rather than join-in to make sure these were achieved in the greater interest of the People… Such Heavy Handed Actions easily remind us of the Round-About Stoplights with nothing positive accomplished and more unanswered questions generated.
Some may find joy in having us doubt ourselves and mocking me for refusing to join in chasing after the Health Care Dollar at the expense of the People but this has never been about me… This is about the Health and Education of our People and we all should be concerned about the ‘cause and effect’ that bad Health Schemes and Education Regressions will have on this and future generations.
Rumoured threats of Persons losing their Properties; Lands and Homes or requiring Bank Loans in order to meet these new Government imposed Charges may become reality especially since the real threats to force you into signing unto this Health Insurance Scheme is more a ploy to make us willing Victims since all this information can be easily accessed from our Social Security Records.
And, while they threaten us with penalties for refusing to hurt ourselves, Civil Servants who form the largest block of Employees will be crushed as their International Medical Coverage becomes restricted to Local and their Yearly Maximum Allowances drastically reduce by as much as 75%... Visitors would find it far less expensive to access Health Care back Home or in other Countries.
It’s beginning to feel like our Public Health Care and Education Systems are intent on destroying our Economy and Children while having our People as Prisoners trapped in a Dictatorship where Leaders are determined not to listen or offer sensible explanations for their actions… Symbolic Walls, Gates and Penalties are making us Strangers and in our Homes and Victims in our own Country.
In such times Leaders hide Information and distort Truth so even as I try to enlighten you it is crucial that you do your own research and reach your own conclusions… Your nervous whispering already makes it clear we are fast approaching that point where Peaceful Resistance becomes a last choice in Self Defense to your silent cries of ‘Black Lives matter’ and ‘Hands up, Don’t Shoot!’
