“We can do it on our own, we will show that as a group of entertainers bonded we have what it takes to stage events to showcase our talents, our gifts and our passion right here in our home country, we must start from somewhere and we are confident that with time we will rise about the challenges we face,” Vice Chairman of ‘Alliance’ Mr Jason ‘Rytical’ Frett had told this news site in an interview recently. PURCELL, Tortola, VI – While they stand up to the challenges of injustices, unfair treatment and blatant disrespect of local artists members of the GRATE BVI Music Alliance said that they are not prepared to sit on their laurels and wait for government handouts as their main income generating activities.

Today those words are beginning to bear fruit as it was at the organizations’ meeting held on Saturday September 20, 2014 at the Purcell Community they announced and initiative that they said guarantees a day of pure, clean entertainment that is designed to draw the masses of the Virgin Islands.

“We will have the GO GREEN Family Fun Day Beach Fest on the Long Bay Beach where everyone can come out and be entertained by their local entertainers,” said Mr Frett.

The organization further explained in a release to this news site that the activity is part of their official launch.

“The Organization is having their premier event and fundraiser named “GO GREEN FAMILY FUN DAY BEACH FEST” under the theme Keeping the BVI Clean and Family Oriented slated for St. Ursula’s Day, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Long Bay Beach, Beef Island,” they said.

According to GRATE BVI Music Alliance the event serves not just as a fundraiser for the new organization but also as a platform to promote going green initiatives.

Entertainment will be provided by the Alliance Band, Quito Rhymer and the Edge, Showtime Band, DJ Taz, DJ Turbo, Soca Monarch's Tino and B’More along with additional artists.

The event will also include fun activities and games such as volleyball tournaments, tug of war and water sports. Food and drinks will be on sale. “I am very pleased to announce our upcoming event and looking forward towards our Organization growing and helping the community wherever we can,” says Alliance President, Eustace “Boss” Freeman.

The VI’s first ever Entertainment Union, The GRATE BVI Music Alliance is now an officially launched Non-Profit Organization with their mission being “Representing and aiding in the development, evolution, and promotion of local musicians, artists, and entertainers, while fostering the development of artistically inclined individuals”.

The Alliance’s objectives include: 1. Provision of a platform and jobs for artists and entertainers; 2. Education of our people in the field of music; 3. Promotion of the cohesion of family through music and the arts; 4. Mentoring of young or less experienced artists towards the goal of perfecting their craft; 5. Fostering the growth, development, and respect among artists and entertainers; 6. To secure the rights and creative works of all artists through copyrighting and registration of radio stations.

On September 3, 2014 the Alliance hosted an Appreciation and birthday celebration for musician Morris Mark which included speech and song tributes from those in attendance along with a profound VI entertainment history lesson and performances from Morris Mark himself on guitar. Those present were truly inspired by his 50 year long journey in entertainment.

The GRATE BVI Music Alliance is accepting applications from all entertainers, musicians, bands, deejays, poets, dancers, sound engineers, promoters, supporters and the like.

Give them a year and you will see. This started for the wrong reason and will end for the right reasons. Gadiethz and Boss are nothing but confusion and Ritical just loves the spotlight. Instead of letting their talent speak for itself they're always embroiled in some controversy.

This is directly aimed at the very first blogger named "whatever"
Can you tell me the exact circumstances that lead to the establishment of this group? I don' t think that you have an Idea because you 're still saying "give them a year" when they've in fact been in effect for years. I was there years ago when this group met the very first time. Give the group some credit and think about the many areas that this group will be able to positively affect in the Virgin Islands. Just before I go......... Do you know how much effort it takes to start a group with the potential energy like GRATE? Have You started a group with the strength and potential to affect the VI positively for centuries to come? If your answer is no ........we'll u get my point. If your answer is yes ..... Good 4 u ... So did the members of GRATE

Those who negatively hate on the BVI Music Alliance is those that doesn't have a drop of musical talent & obviously doesn't "financially" benefit from it,,"pitty that's what defines their pathetic concern".

Also those that hate this is those that rides on the back of the Politrics that continue to oppress our ppls in many walks not just music.

Many wouldn't say anything on issues such as these because it may not affect them directly so they show no concern.

For those that do positively make a step forward to stand against disrespect n injustice of any kind, i applaud you,,, &fret not thyself of Satan Children the evil doers that use their mouths to blaspheme against any positive movement...#They did the same to Marcus,Martin,Malcom,Bob etc...#But They n their words will eventually wither away.

#Go BVI Music Alliance to the world. #Unity is strength. #That's what have those haters trying their best to talk down lol. #They never wanted yall to unite..#& data mad them... #Jah works unstoppable.
