ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Basketball action was hot last weekend in the Honourable Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League.

It was the first round of the playoffs in the best out of three series.

It meant that some four teams were knocked out.  In the Western Division on Friday September 28, 2018, Bayside Blazers vs Warriors in which the Blazers won by a 82-70. 

On the same Friday ‘Momentum’ took on ‘Da 3rd’ with a close game, in favour of ‘Momentum’ 103-102.   Then from the Eastern Division saw a big match up on Friday September 28, 2018, with ‘Splash Brothers’ and ‘Knights’ with Knights taking the first game 87-83.

Then on Saturday September 29, 2018 ‘Bayside Blazers’ swept the ‘Warriors’ in 86-73 to confirm their place in the second round. 

Then on Saturday ‘Splash Brothers’ made a comeback and won game two 87-83 to even up the tally in the best out of three.

East vs West

Then from the Western Division also ‘Pure Playaz’ had an easy win over ‘We Dem Boyz’ with 81-69 and give them a clean sweep on Sunday September 30, 2018 in a  91-61. 

The on Sunday September 30, 2018, saw ‘Splash Brothers’ showing their championship mantle by sending ‘Knights’ packing to advance to round two. 

‘Splash Brothers’ score was 85-79.  

 On Sunday ‘Momentum’ put away ‘Da 3rd’ in a sweep with a score of 89-83.

So therefore in round two this weekend, ‘Splash Brothers’ will take on ‘Pure Playaz’ for the Eastern  Division Title and ‘Bayside Blazers’ will take on ‘Momentum’ in the best out of three in the Western title.

Junior Division action this weekend

Meanwhile, the Junior Division playoffs  will also start this weekend with High Speed will do Battle with Young Starz on Friday October 5, 2018, in the best out of 3 games. 

The winner will take on either the Junior Bayside Blazers or Beast Mode who play on Saturday.

There will be a 2 day break on September 7 & 12 October 2018 in the Hon Fraser Basketball League to facilitate Power Plus a religious  event hosted by the New Life Baptiste Church, in Duff’s Bottom.
