ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A tight competition on X Factor promises a five million dollar recording contract and rising star Melanie Amaro is among the top five candidates vying for this life changing award.

Nineteen-year-old Melanie Amaro, who has been revealing more and more of her Virgin Islands accent to viewers, was born in Florida, but spent most of her childhood in the Virgin Islands.

According to a press release from the BVI Tourist Board, since auditioning for a spot on the hit reality show, Ms. Amaro has captured the attention of both the judges and audiences with her powerful voice and continues to remain a favourite on the show as she excels throughout the competition. X Factor is now down to five contenders and as intensity raises viewers become more excited to see who will walk away with the grand prize.

The performers with the most votes will be placed on a safe list, allowing them to automatically advance into the next round. The decision of who will remain in the competition will be aired on Thursday, 8th December 2011.

Simon Cowell, creator of X Factor explained that the $5 million recording contract consists of the winner receiving $5 million in cash, in addition to staring in their own Pepsi commercial to be aired during Super Bowl Sunday. According to the website The Clicker on Today, Mr. Cowell described the Pepsi commercial as “a money-can’t buy prize.” He further stated that, “It’s the sort of thing they gave to Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears.”

About X Factor

The X Factor is a television talent show franchise originating in the United Kingdom. It is a singing competition, now held in various countries where contestants compete against each other. These contestants are aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. The programmes are produced by executive producer Simon Cowell and his company SYCOtv. The “X Factor” title refers to the undefinable element that leads to star quality. The winner will receive a $5 million recording contract as well as worldwide exposure via X Factor. The contestants who appear in the later stages of the show will also benefit from the publicity that the show offers making them more likely to be signed by other recording companies.

    I have nothing asniagt melanie and i can honest say to 100% that she is the best singer and deserved to win, but Chris Rene was the best performer and got The X Factor.
